1.First World Hotel

Located in Genting Highlands, a hill resort in Malaysia. It features 7,351 rooms and has set the Guinness World record for the largest hotel in the world by the count of rooms. First World Hotel is also the first hotel in South East Asia to launch E-Kiosk or Express Check-in and Check-out kiosks. It also features shopping malls, dining outlets, casinos and the Genting indoor theme park. Magic shows and music shows take place at a mini stage. Is also inclusive of a Cineplex and Video games park.

The Venetian is located on the Las Vegas strip in Paradise, Nevada, United states. It draws it inspiration for design from Venice, Italy and features replicas of various Venetian landmarks. Boasts 4,049 rooms. The Venetian is owned and operated by Las Vegas Sands. Apart from the casinos, Tao nightclub and Grand Canal Shoppes fall under its signature attractions.


The Palazzo opened in December 2007. It consists of 3,068 rooms. Reports state that, The Palazzo is reported to be the eleventh largest building in the world in terms of available floor space and is also currently the second-largest building in the Western Hemisphere. The major attractions are Dal Toro Las Vegas which displays alluring automobiles from most renowned automakers and The Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian and the Palazzo that features high end fashion brands and upscale boutiques.


The Venetian & the Palazzo held the record of World’s Largest hotel from 2008-2015.

3.MGM Grand Las Vegas + The Signature

Formerly known as the Marina, the MGM grand is a hotel and casino located in Paradise, Nevada on the Las Vegas strip. It is owned and operated by MGM Resorts International. It is the third largest hotel complex in the world by number of rooms. Back in 1993 when it had opened it was the largest hotel complex in the world. MGM grand has 5,044 rooms and includes five outdoor pools, rivers and waterfalls, the grand arena and spa. The theme is based on Hollywood. The MGM grand has been featured in a lot of movies some of the names being The Great White Hype, Ocean’s eleven, the amazing race 15 and the amazing race 24 amongst others. CSI: The Experience also is a prominent attraction for tourists and visitors.


The Signature is a condo hotel in MGM grand. Consists of 38 floors and 1,728 rooms. There are three towers and each tower has a private pool with a hot tub. Tower one has a cocktail room and Tower one and three have workout room for the guests of all three towers. The signature guests have access to all the amenities of MGM grand as well.



4.City center

City center is again located on the Las Vegas strip, Nevada. It started functioning from December 2009. Owned by MGM Resorts International and Dubai World. City Center has five towers

Aria (61 floors), Vdara (57 floors), Mandarin Oriental (56 floors), Veer towers (37 floors in 2 towers) and boasting a total of 6,790 rooms. The Aria resort features a 150,000 sq ft casino. Crystal is a three storey retail and entertainment district.



5.Sands Cotai Central  

Located in Macau, China. It opened on 11 April 2012 and is owned by Las Vegas Sands. It consists of a total of 6ooo rooms. There are two casinos – The Pacifica casino and the Himalaya casino.


6.Izmailovo Hotel

Is a four building unique hotel complex in Izmaylovo district of Moscow, Russia. There are four buildings named Alpha, Beta, Vega, Gamma Delta all 30 storeys each boasting a total of 5000 rooms. Izmailovo was the largest hotel in the world from1980-1990. It was initially built for the 1980 Summer Olympics.



7.Wynn Las Vegas + Encore Las Vegas .

Located on the Las Vegas strip in Paradise, Nevada Wynn is a luxury hotel and casino. It is considered to be one of the finest hotels in the world. Wynn plus its sister property Encore has a total of 4,750 rooms. Has an exquisite shopping arcade, two nightclubs – Tryst & Blush Boutique nightclub. There are many notable restaurants such as Allegro, Andrea’s, Costa di Mare, Lakeside by David Walzog,

Mizumi, Okada, SW, Tableau, Wing Lei. The resort has earned AAA five diamond, Mobil five-star, Forbes five-star, Michelin five star, and Zagat Survey Top U.S. Hotel ratings, as well as one Michelin star for its restaurant Wing Lei. The Wynn resort complex makes it the world’s seventh largest hotel in the world.


8.Mandalay bay + Delano+ Four seasons

Is a luxury hotel and casino owned and operated by MGM Resorts International. Mandalay bay has 43 floors.  One of the property’s towers operates as the Delano, also the Four Seasons Hotel is independently operated within the Mandalay Bay tower, occupying 5 floors (35–39) and the top three floors (40-42) are penthouses. The main attractions are the Mandalay Beach, Shark Reef aquarium, Mandalay beach events center and the Mandalay beach convention center. Shows like the lion king, Mamma Mia have taken place here. Various popular movies have been filmed here such as Rocky Balboa, Oceans thirteen, The Hangover, The Modern family amidst many others.

9.Luxor Las Vegas

Located on the southern end of the Las Vegas strip in Paradise, Nevada. Luxor is the 9th largest hotel in the world. Major attractions here are LAX Nightclub, Atrium Level, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, Bodies…The Exhibition, Aurora Bar, Centra Bar & Lounge, Flight Bar.



10.Ambassador city Jomtien

Ambassador city Jomtien is an exclusive resort located at Jomtien Bay, near Pattaya, Thailand. Has a total of 4219 rooms and the resort overlooks the sea and the nearby mountains. It claims to have Asia’s largest swimming pool. Also has several bars and nightclubs, has around 8 restaurants, a convention center and a sports & fitness facility.

But the hotel to beat all hotels is coming up soon. Abraj Kudai, located in Mecca, is currently under construction. It is supposed to be the grandest and largest hotel of the world once its constructed completely. It is to boast an overall of 10,000 rooms, have twelve towers of 45 storeys each, 5 helipads and 70 restaurants. 5 floors will be solely for the use of the Saudi Royal family. The estimated project cost is said to be around $3.5 billion. Although it was supposed to open by 2017 currently its tangled in a lot of controversy and opening date maybe pushed or delayed. But if and when it’s completely constructed it will take over the the current world’s largest hotel First World Hotel in Malaysia.
