Groove for a cause at the Kasauli Rhythm n Blues festival

Kasauli, a quaint hill station in Himachal Pradesh, south west of Shimla is usually quiet for most parts of the year until April. That’s when the sublime hill station begins to resound with crooning of talented voices, the splash of cymbals and the sound of deep guitar riffs.

Founder trustees Prema and Jyoti Sagar turned their dream of bringing music to the hills into a community of festival goers since the first #KasauliRnB in 2012. Today, the annual Kasauli Rhythm & Blues Festival attracts music aficionados from all parts of the world to apple country where they could savour the local produce, breathe in the fresh mountain air and tune in to the rhythms of blues and rock.

A weekender program for music lovers, every year the festival selectively picks artistes from a diverse pool of established and upcoming talent to create a memorable event. This year’s line-up includes the Sufi rock band Nasya, Kamakshi Khanna Collective, Rajeev Raja Combine among others. Expect to find a lively atmosphere in the peaceful environs of Kasauli and groove for a cause. Proceeds from the festival go to the Genesis Foundation’s Little Hearts, a program aimed at financially supporting critically ill children who require surgery.

The foundation has treated over 1100 children and aims to reach out to thousands of more in the years to come. This spring if you find yourself in Himachal between April 14 – 16, head to Kasauli and groove for a cause.
